How to: Change the mouse pointer.
Solution:
Modify the mouse pointer by selecting 'Settings', 'Control Panel', and 'Mouse', and selecting the 'Pointers' tab of the 'Mouse Properties' dialog box.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'Mouse' icon. (The 'Mouse Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Pointers' tab from the 'Mouse Properties' dialog box.
5) Do one of the following:
a) Select an existing pointer scheme:
1] Select a scheme from the 'Scheme' drop-down list box.

2] Click 'Apply'.
b) Select pointers individually:
1] Select the section to be changed from the pointer description list.

2] Click 'Browse...' to display a list of available pointers and cursors.
NOTE 1: These cursors are usually in the C:\WINDOWS directory or a subdirectory of Windows.
NOTE 2: If the cursors are not displayed, open the folder in the C:\WINDOWS directory containing the cursors.
3] Select the desired cursor from the list. (The cursor name appears in the 'File name' box and the cursor in the 'Preview' box.)

4] Click 'Open' to return to the 'Mouse Properties' dialog box.
5] Repeat steps 5)a) and 5)b) for every cursor to be changed.
6] Click 'Apply'.
7] Click 'OK'.
8] (Optional) Before exiting the 'Mouse Properties' dialog box, save the new settings as a scheme:
a] Click 'Save As...' from the 'Scheme' section.
b] Type a name for the scheme and click 'OK'.
